Review the definition and prevalence of cardiometabolic disease in women. Examine the pathophysiology including ASCVD, HF, obesity, insulin resistance, polycystic ovarian syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and dyslipidemia. Compare the clinical tools for assessing cardiovascular disease, including the ASCVD Risk Score, the Coronary Artery Calcium Score and the AHA 2018: Treatment Algorithm. Assess strategies for preventing and treating cardiometabolic disease in women including lifestyle modification and pharmacologic treatments. Evaluate methods for screening and treating diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension and obesity. Examine motivational interviewing as a strategy for effecting positive behavioral changes.
